Discover Thailand’s Astronauts Scholarship Program

ทุนการศึกษาค้นพบนักบินอวกาศไทย ถูกก่อตั้งขึ้นโดยคำแนะนำของ ผู้แทนศูนย์อวกาศและจรวดแห่งชาติสหรัฐอเมริกา ประจำประเทศไทยหลังจากนิทรรศการอวกาศนาซาที่จัดขึ้นในประเทศไทยประสบความสำเร็จเป็นอย่างมากในปี พ.ศ.2557 – พ.ศ.2558

ศูนย์อวกาศและจรวดแห่งชาติสหรัฐอเมริกา และศูนย์ข้อมูลนาซาจึงอนุมัติแนวทางการจัดตั้งทุนการศึกษา และได้รับความช่วยเหลือในการดำเนินการเป็นครั้งแรก ด้วยงบประมาณของกระทรวงการต่างประเทศสหรัฐอเมริกาผ่านสถานทูตสหรัฐประจำประเทศไทย โดยการบริหารงานของบริษัท ซิกเนเจอร์ มาร์เก็ตติ้ง จำกัด ซึ่งเป็นหน่วยงานบริหารงานให้แก่ศูนย์อวกาศและจรวดแห่งชาติสหรัฐ และศูนย์ข้อมูลนาซาประจำประเทศไทย

วัตถุประสงค์ของทุนการศึกษานี้เพื่อรณรงค์ให้วัฒนธรรมวิทยาศาสตร์ เทคโนโลยี และ การสร้างประดิษฐ์กรรมในไทยมีความเข้มแข็งมากขึ้นและกลายเป็นหนึ่งในวิถีชีวิตประจำวันของคนไทย เฉกเช่นเดียวกับวัฒนธรรมด้านการทำอาหารและกิจกรรมบันเทิง

คุณสมบัติของผู้เข้าสอบ

  1. สัญชาติไทย

  2. อายุระหว่าง 13-19 ปี ในวันสอบ (3 พฤศจิกายน 2562)

รูปแบบการคัดเลือกเพื่อเข้ารับทุนการศึกษา

การสอบคัดเลือกจะแบ่งออกเป็น 2 รอบ ดังนี้

รอบที่ 1      เป็นการสอบวัดความถนัดด้านอวกาศ (SCAT – Space Camp Aptitude Test) ข้อสอบเป็นปรนัย 100 ข้อ (ข้อสอบทั้งหมดเป็นภาษาอังกฤษ) ใช้เวลาในการสอบ 3 ชั่วโมง และคัดเลือก 21 คนที่ได้รับคะแนนสูงสุดจะได้เข้าร่วมในการแข่งขันรอบที่ 2

รอบที่ 2      เป็นการแข่งขันด้านวิทยาศาสตร์ เทคโนโลยี วิศวกรรมศาสตร์ และ คณิตศาสตร์ ทั้งในทางทฤษฎีและปฏิบัติ (STEM Camp) เป็นเวลา 3 วัน 2 คืน ณ คณะวิศวกรรมศาสตร์ สถาบันเทคโนโลยีพระจอมเกล้าเจ้าคุณทหารลาดกระบัง ซึ่งจะจัดขึ้นในวันที่ 29 พฤศจิกายน พ.ศ. 2562 – 1 ธันวาคม พ.ศ. 2562 เพื่อคัดเลือกให้เหลือ 3 คนที่จะได้รับทุนเต็มจำนวนไปเรียนที่ US Space Camp เป็นเวลา 10 วัน ณ ศูนย์ อวกาศและจรวดแห่งชาติสหรัฐอเมริกา เมืองฮันต์สวิลล์ รัฐอลาบามา สหรัฐอเมริกา

​หมายเหตุ

  1. คำถามที่ใช้ในการสอบมีเนื้อหาครอบคลุมเนื้อหาสาระของวิชาตรรกวิทยา เรขาคณิต คณิตศาสตร์ ฟิสิกส์ ความรู้ประวัติศาสตร์ และ การแก้โจทย์ปัญหาทางวิทยาศาสตร์ ซึ่งเป็นข้อสอบที่ได้รับการตรวจอนุมัติจากศูนย์อวกาศและจรวดแห่งชาติสหรัฐและศูนย์ข้อมูลข่าวสารนาซา

  2. ในกรณีที่ได้คะแนนเท่ากัน ผู้สมัครที่คะแนนเท่ากันจะต้องผ่านการสัมภาษณ์กับผู้แทนศูนย์อวกาศและจรวดแห่งชาติสหรัฐอเมริกา และการตัดสินของผู้แทนศูนย์อวกาศและจรวดแห่งชาติสหรัฐอเมริกาถือเป็นที่สิ้นสุด

วันเวลาและสถานที่ดำเนินการสอบ

กำหนดการสอบ วันอาทิตย์ที่ 3 พฤศจิกายน พ.ศ. 2562 เวลา 9.00 น. ถึง 12.00 น. ณ คณะวิศวกรรมศาสตร์ สถาบันเทคโนโลยีพระจอมเกล้าเจ้าคุณทหารลาดกระบัง

การรับทุนการศึกษา

ผู้ที่ได้รับการคัดเลือก 4 คนสุดท้ายจะได้รับทุนการศึกษาเต็มจำนวนในการเดินทางไป US Space Camp ตั้งแต่วันที่ 27 มีนาคม พ.ศ. 2563  – 5 เมษายน พ.ศ. 2563 เป็นเวลา 10 วัน ณ ศูนย์อวกาศและจรวดแห่งชาติสหรัฐอเมริกา เมืองฮันต์สวิลล์ รัฐอลาบามา สหรัฐอเมริกา  โดยทุนการศึกษาที่ได้รับครอบคลุมรายละเอียดดังต่อไปนี้

  1. ค่าเล่าเรียนทั้งหมดที่ศูนย์อวกาศและจรวดแห่งชาติสหรัฐอเมริกา

  2. ค่าที่พัก ค่าเดินทาง และค่าอาหารทั้งหมดในสหรัฐอเมริกา

  3. ตั๋วเครื่องบินไปกลับ กรุงเทพมหานคร – สหรัฐอเมริกา

  4. ค่าดำเนินการวีซ่าสหรัฐอเมริกา

  5. ประกันการเดินทาง

  6. NASA Flight suit

นอกจากนี้ผู้ที่ทำคะแนนได้สูงสุด 2 อันดับแรกในรอบที่ 2 จะได้รับทุนการศึกษาเรียนในระดับปริญญาตรี ในคณะใดก็ได้ของสถาบันเทคโนโลยีพระจอมเกล้าเจ้าคุณทหารลาดกระบัง โดยทุนดังกล่าวที่ได้รับ ไม่มีข้อผูกมัดใดๆทั้งสิ้น

โครงการทุนการศึกษาค้นพบนักบินอวกาศไทย (Discover Thailand’s Astronaut Scholarship Program) ได้รับการสนับสนุนโดยศูนย์อวกาศและจรวดแห่งชาติสหรัฐ ซึ่งเป็นศูนย์ข้อมูลข่าวสารของ NASA และ เป็นองค์กรร่วมของ Smithsonian สถานทูตสหรัฐอเมริกาประจำประเทศไทย บริษัท เซ็นทรัลพัฒนา จำกัด (มหาชน) สถาบันเทคโนโลยีพระจอมเกล้าเจ้าคุณทหารลาดกระบังบริษัท เสริมสุข จำกัด ไทยรัฐทีวี The One Card PlanB Mediaในการบริหารงานของ Zignature Marketing Co., Ltd. ซึ่งเป็นองค์กรด้านปฏิบัติการในโครงการนี้ของศูนย์อวกาศและจรวดแห่งชาติสหรัฐ โดยมีองค์กรพันธมิตรคือ Thailand Space and Aeronautics Research (TSR) และ International Youth Astronomy and Space Academy (IYASA)

ผู้สนใจเข้าแข่งขันชิงทุนการศึกษาต้องเป็นเยาวชนไทย อายุ 14-18 ปี ร่วมสอบวัดทักษะความสามารถพื้นฐานด้านอวกาศ (Space Camp Aptitude Test) เพื่อเข้าสู่ Stem Camp ที่สถาบันเทคโนโลยีพระจอมเกล้าเจ้าคุณทหารลาดกระบัง เป็นเวลา 3 วัน 3 คืน โดยจะต้องแข่งขันด้านประดิษฐกรรมและนวัตกรรม นักเรียนชาย 1 คน และหญิง 1 คน ผู้ที่ได้คะแนนโหวตจากเพื่อนและกรรมการมากที่สุดจะได้รับทุนของรัฐบาลสหรัฐฯและสถาบันเทคโนโลยีพระจอมเกล้าเจ้าคุณทหารลาดกระบัง

นอกจากนีัยังมีทุนการศึกษาด้านการสำรวจอวกาศสมทบจาก Est ซึ่งผู้สมัครต้องผ่านกระบวนการเดียวกันและได้คะแนนเป็นลำดับที่สาม โดยผุ้สมัครจะต้องมีคุณสมบัติดังนี้ ไม่จำกัดสัญชาติ และอายุระหว่าง 12-30 ปี

สนใจสมัครได้ตั้งแต่วันนี้ – 14 ตุลาคม 2560 ที่ www.spacecampthailand.com ค่าลงทะเบียนสมัครสอบ 500 บาท สำหรับตัวแทนนักเรียน 4 คนไม่เสียค่าใช้จ่ายแต่อย่างใด โดยการสอบ SCAT จะมีขึ้นในวันที่ 22 ตุลาคม 2560 ตั้งแต่ 9.00-12.00 น. ที่คณะวิศวกรรมศาสตร์ สถาบันเทคโนโลยีเจ้าคุณทหารลาดกระบัง และ STEM Camp จะมีขึ้นระหว่างวันท่ี่ 17-19 พฤศจิกายน 2560 ที่วิศวกรรมศาสตร์สถาบันเทคโนโลยีเจ้าคุณทหารลาดกระบัง

SCHOLARSHIP INTRODUCTION

The U.S. Space Camp’s Scholarship Program or the Discover Thailand’s Astronauts Scholarship Program is initiated by Krit Kunplin, USSRC’s Representative in Thailand and South East Asia and is supported by the U.S. Government under the supervision of the U.S. Embassy. Other private and public organizations i.e. Est Cola Scholarship are also involved.

In 2016, the Scholarship opens only for the Thai citizens and supports by U.S. Government for 2 scholarships and Est Cola for 1 scholarship.

In 2017, the U.S. Embassy supports 2 space exploration scholarships for one girl and one boy of Thai nationality within the ages between 14-18 years old. The winners of the American government’s scholarship will be automatically eligible for a full scholarship to study for an entire bachelor degree of any major at the King Mongkut’s Institute of Technology Ladkrabang.

​Est Cola also supports one space exploration scholarship for person of any nationalities within the ages of 12-30 years old.

SCHOLARSHIP QUALIFICATIONS

​U.S. Embassy’s and KMITL’s Scholarship

  • Thai citizen
  • Ages between 14-18 years old.

Est Cola’s Scholarship

  • Any nationalities
  • Ages between 12-30 years old.

SCHOLARSHIP REQUIRED

SCAT [Space Camp Aptitude Test]

STEM Camp [STEM competition and science quiz for 3 days and 2 nights at the KMITL’s Engineering department]

SCHOLARSHIP BENEFITS

  1. US government’s SpaceEx Scholarship to train on space exploration program at the US Space and Rocket Center located near to US Army’s Red Stone Arsenal Military Base in Huntsville, Alabama for 6 days
  2. Full bachelor degree scholarship of any majors at the KMITL [only the winners of the US government’s grants]
  3. Special recommendation by President of the KMITL to study at MIT [only the winners of the US government’s grants]
